Diana C. Yuen, O.D.
Dr. Diana Yuen has enjoyed providing eyecare in the Grand Avenue area for over 28 years. She was born and raised right here in the Crocker Highlands area where she went to school, and eventually, graduated from Oakland High School. She then studied Biology at Mills College before entering the UC Berkeley School of Optometry where she earned her doctorate degree.
Dr. Yuen is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, UC Berkeley School of Optometry Alumni Association, the Asian Optometric Study Group, and VisionSource, an international network of distinguished independent eyecare professionals.
Aside from practicing optometry, Dr. Yuen enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her husband, Ray, who serves as the Director of Educational Technology at the Head-Royce School. She enjoys reading, traveling, playing the piano, cooking, theater, and spending time with friends and extended family.
Dr. Yuen looks forward to sharing her expertise and meeting all of your eyecare needs. She gladly welcomes new and returning patients alike.
Chong Yu, O.D.
Dr. Chong Yu has been practicing in our office since 2007. He grew up in the East Bay and attended school in Albany. After graduating from UC Berkeley as a finalist for the University Medal, Dr. Yu went on to attend the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. He met his future wife, Emily, while in graduate school, and they were married in September of 2007. Dr. Yu and his wife currently reside in El Cerrito with their two beautiful daughters.
During his free time, Dr. Yu enjoys skiing, running, cooking, watching football, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Yu takes great pride in providing the most thorough and accurate eye care possible for every one of his patients. He is certified in the treatment of glaucoma. In addition, he is able to examine patients in both Cantonese and Spanish.
Donna Yuen, Office Manager
Donna Yuen is our office’s general manager, carrying out a wide array of responsibilities to ensure that the office functions smoothly and that each patient is handled with the utmost care. Her goal is to insure that every member of our staff provides outstanding service to our patients at all times. Donna is the person to contact if you should ever have any concerns that need to be brought to our attention.
Donna was born and raised in Oakland, attended Crocker Highlands School and graduated from Oakland High School. She went on to earn a degree in Business from UCBerkeley. Recruited straight out of college, Donna spent over 30 years with a major department store chain, serving in buying as well as store manager capacities. Her many years of experience and knowledge gained from the retail environment translates very well to her new situation in our office.
In her time away from the office, Donna enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time outdoors bicycling and hiking. She also loves decorating her home in Danville which she shares with her husband, Terry. She also enjoys spending time with her son, Trevor, and daughter, Stacy.
Donna is eager to make your acquaintance and do whatever she can to make your visit with us a pleasant one.
Sarina Navarro, Optician
Our practice is pleased to welcome Sarina Navarro as our new dispensing optician. She brings a fifteen year history of experience in the optical industry, having worked in several optometric settings throughout the Bay Area. Her expertise in the optical area is matched by her love of fashion and her ability to select the perfect eyewear for each and every person she encounters.
Sarina was born and raised in Sunnyvale, California. She now makes her home in Tracy where she enjoys spending time with her husband, Juan, and her two sons and daughter, aged 9 months to 15 years. She enjoys reading romance novels and watching movies, her favorites being Pretty Woman and Grease. Shopping is always a favorite activity in addition to rooting for her beloved Oakland A’s.

Cassidy Trott, Optometric Technician/Front Desk
Cassidy Trott has joined our office as our Optometric Technician and Front Desk support. It is immediately apparent that she loves meeting new people, and she is very skilled at putting you at ease as she begins the examination process. Cassidy was born and raised in the Bay Area and is a proud alumna of the Head-Royce School in Oakland. She attended UC Santa Cruz followed by California State University East Bay where she earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a minor in History. Since the age of six, Cassidy has had a passion for swimming and was a member of both her high school and college swim teams.
When Cassidy has free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, watching the movies of her favorite actress, Bette Davis, and spending time with her boyfriend of seven years. She loves friendly debates and discussions about current events and history with her dad and draws inspiration from Eleanor Roosevelt. Cassidy is eager to make your acquaintance and help to smoothly navigate you through your visit to our office.
Sheila Blake, Optometric Technician/Front Desk
Our office is happy to have Sheila Blake join our team as our optometric technician and administrative assistant. Her confident and friendly demeanor will become evident as soon as she escorts you into our examination area.
Sheila is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and spent a number of years living in Atlanta, Georgia as well. After attending college at Denison University, she worked for the Ohio State University Medical Center for 18 years, followed by 8 years at the Sibley Heart Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Relocating closer to family brought her to California in 2010.
Many creative outlets fill Sheila’s spare time, including calligraphy, paper arts, acrylic painting, sewing, and crocheting. Reading and travelling are also among her favorite activities. She is the proud mother of two sons and five grandchildren, and she now makes her home in Oakland with her partner, Ralph.
Sheila looks forward to drawing from her many years of experience to provide our patients with the very best service and thoughtful, personal eyecare.
